Day Five
Series 3 Episode 5
Torchwood is defenceless and Gwen Cooper stands alone, as the final sanction begins. But as violence erupts and the world descends into anarchy, an ordinary housing estate becomes a battleground, where the future of the human race will be decided.
Trivia
  • This is the first episode of Torchwood not to feature Gareth David-Lloyd (Ianto Jones).
  • This episode was intended to show how the human race reacted to the alien threat rather than the alien threat itself. In the pre-series press interview, creator Russell T Davies said: "...the way we sit in the West and watch footage of atrocities in different countries and imagine it's all so far away, and so impossible here - which is a nice, comfy lie we tell ourselves. That was the heart of it."
