Bill Pullman was born in New York on 17th December 1953 and joins the cast of Miracle Day as the convicted child killer Oswald Danes. He is best known for his previous roles in Independence Day, in which he portrayed President Thomas J. Whitmore, Casper, in which he starred as Dr. James Harvey, and Alien Autopsy, in which he played Morgan Banner.

Bill has confessed to not knowing much about Torchwood prior to accepting the role, but has revealed that the decision to play the character was an "impulsive" one, admitting: "It was so attractive to me because it's a character with so many facets which I have never really played before".
