Gareth David-Lloyd was born on March 28th, 1981 in Newport, Wales, and is best known for his role as Ianto Jones in Torchwood.

His first acting role was as a robot in a school play and as a teenager he joined the Gwent Young People's Theatre in Abergavenny, where he appeared in various plays, including Macbeth, The Threepenny Opera and Henry V.

David-Lloyd's stage parts have included Sebastian in Twelfth Night, and he has appeared on TV in Absolute Power, Casualty, Rosemary & Thyme and The Bill.
