Mekhi Phifer, born on 29th December 1974 in New York, joins the Torchwood team in Miracle Day as CIA agent Rex Matheson, and is best known for he is for role as Dr. Gregory Pratt in ER.

His other television credits include Curb Your Enthusiasm, Punk'd and Lie to Me, and he has also appeared on the big screen in 8-Mil (in which he co-starred alongside Eminem), I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and Dawn of the Dead.
